BillCARRUTHERSFounder of The Chew Valley Gazette. Passed away on July 31st 2023, aged 82 years.

He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Church of St Laurence, East Harptree on Monday, September 4th at 1.00 pm. Followed by a private Cremation.

Donations for SARAG (Yorkshire and Humberside Asbestos Support), The Spinal Injuries Association & Citizens Advice are being accepted in Bill's memory by

When we were labour councillors for Westfield Radstocck Bill and I developed a close friendship which I will never forget. Bill was a devoted councillor, giving his all to that role. Also he was an astute business man yet he never forgot his humble early life but with hard work and dedication he achieved much through his business dealings. It was a privilege to have known this outstanding man, but more than that it was a joy to have been called his friend. May he RIP, my condolences to Veronica & all Bill's family In profound sadness Terry Rakes
