JamesCARTYJames Patrick Carty "Jim to everyone" passed away peacefully after a long term illness at Leicester General Hospital.
He grew up in Bundoran, Republic of Ireland before moving to the UK with his family when he was a teenager, and lived in Castle Donington ever since.
He worked as an Electrician and Company Owner all of his adult life and was involved in many local community activities from Junior League football to the Rotary club.
He spent many years trying to perfect his golf swing and support Derby County,
both of which he found very frustrating.
He was married twice, at the time of his death he was a widower, and leaves behind his only Son Simon from his first marriage, and his 2 grandchildren, Alexandria and James.
He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

The Church of the Risen Lord, Castle Donington
on Wednesday 22nd April 2026 at 4:30pm
All are welcome to attend
To be followed by a Funeral Mass at Church
on Thursday 23rd April 2026 at 11am and then at
Trent Valley Crematorium at 12:30pm
All are welcome to attend Church or Crematorium or both.
After the service Refreshments will be served in
St Edwards Church Hall, St Anne's Lane, Castle Donington
All are welcome to join with family and share memories of Jim.
