A good friend that I used to speak with lots when he came up to Shetland Isle to join us at BP. I will never forget his character. A lovely person to have met. My sincere condolences albeit it late, but nevertheless I wish you all peace in your hearts in an attempt to pacify the terrible loss of John. Regards and best wishes. Martin Popple

John and I started on the same day being draughtsmen in 1997. Very saddened to hear of his passing. Was a joy to bump into him a couple of years ago on Conoco. The funniest human being I have ever met. Steve Ford
