CHARLOTTE DUNNLate in 1995, five-year-old Charlotte Dunn wrote to her old school friends in the West Midlands to tell them she loved it in Scotland. Less than six months later, on 13 March, 1996, she became one of the 17 victims of the Dunblane massacre.
She had moved to the Scottish town with her parents and younger brother, Alex, and in her letter to her old school said she was missing everybody.
New to Dunblane Primary School, she quickly became firm friends with Melissa Currie, 5, who had also just recently moved to Dunblane.
Charlotte Louise Dunn was originally from the West Midlands but moved to Scotland during 1995. From Springfield Terrace, she quickly began to enjoy school life with her classmates and new teacher Gwen Mayor.
Six months later, however, her life was cut tragically short when former Scout leader, Thomas Hamilton, entered the school gymnasium where she and her class were and opened fire with four handguns.
Sixteen children and one school teacher were killed in the massacre, among them six-year-old Charlotte and her best friend Melissa.
A joint funeral service for the two girls was held later. Almost 600 mourners filled the local cathedral and the two girls’ favourite Christmas carol "Away in a Manger" was sung out of season.
One of the many tributes laid outside for Charlotte included a wreath in the shape of Mickey Mouse’s face.
A lover of teddy bears, her grave is marked with a stone in the shape of a panda.
