NormanCHATTLEMR Norman Chattle, of Tunstead Road, Stacksteads, died on Saturday, February 29, at Danesmoor Care Home, aged 85. After National Service with the RAF he worked in the shoe trade for a few years before becoming a carpet fitter for most of his life. He returned to Spencers Footwear in his later years. He enjoyed walking and camping in his younger days, then caravanning with his partner Joyce. He particularly liked steam trains, was a keen bird watcher and followed Blackburn Rovers FC. Partner of Joyce, father of Simon, Justin and Wayne, father-in-law to Anita, Jackie and Kathryn, grandfather of Sam, Ollie, Amber, Megan, Hannah, Abbey, Saul and Rohan. A celebration of life service, conducted by the minister Neil Overton, took place at Accrington Crematorium, on Wednesday, March 11 at 10.20am. Family flowers only, donations requested to East Lancs Railway. Funeral director: Knight and Boys Funeral Service, 300 Newchurch Road, Stacksteads, Bacup.
