Faye,
I kinda hope I'm wrong but did your father attend Bootle Grammar School for Boys in Netherton from 1960 - 1965? If so, I'm very sorry to have heard of his passing. He and I were best friends in those days and for quite a few years after we finished education. He was at my and my wife, Val's wedding in 1974 - I still have the pictures of him looking super-cool. We kind of lost touch after we moved to the south - Reading in 1975. We did meet occasionally for a few years but hadn't been in touch for many, many years. We eventually moved to Canada in 1987 so definitely lost touch at that time.
He was always an actor, even in those days and I especially remember his Hitler impression, with a small black comb as a prop. Spent many evenings at the old house in Crosby? His mum and dad were alive then but his dad already had bad lungs andpassed away a few years later, I believe. Last I heard of his mum she went to live in South Africa with Ian's sister?
Anyway, I will always remember Ian as a great friend of my youth -we both detested Bootle Grammar School with an equal passion.

Kind Regards,

Richard Cowle
