I have played golf with the Rodneys for many years as has Bert . The difference is that he was a dark horse and seemed very frequently to be in the prizes section . He was also a very good bridge player . He was a true gentleman and will be missed .

I have played with ,and against BERT,over many years:competative but a real gentleman.I shall remember him for the many hole 19 chats and his use of a wood driver (made of wood!)

I first met Bert about 15 years ago when I joined Llanishen Golf Club and came to know him not only as a golfer but as a gentleman in the true sense of the word. We were on a number of enjoyable golf trips over the past few years. He was very good company and had the respect of everyone in our group. He will be missed greatly. RIP
