Eileen MildredCLARKEPeacefully at her home in Llanallgo surrounded by her family. Age 97 years. Beloved wife of the late Edmund. Dearly loved mother of Stephanie, Martin, Nikkie, Debby and the late Christopher. Precious Grandmother of Jason, Sian, Trystan, Natasha, Samuel, Benjamin, Angharad, Tom, Alex and the late Nathan. Caring Great Grandmother of Kit, Archie, Tilly, Lawrence, Xander, Raffie, Teddy, Pip, Olivia, Iliana and Robin. Loving sister to Josie and David. Eileen was a pioneer in supporting people with disabilities in Anglesey, and was an inspiration, mentor and friend to many. She joined Mencap in 1960, was a driving force behind Ynys Mon Riding for the Disabled, from its beginnings to present, and was on the board of several charities, including Tyddyn Mon and Medrwn Mon, and a governor of Canolfan Addysg y Bont. She was a tireless advocate for improving services for people with learning disabilities, and was involved in establishing respite care facilities and café projects, as well as improving education provision with Coleg Menai. She was uniquely supportive, often going the extra mile to help people in her own home and time, and will be personally and sorely missed by many. Public service at St Gallgo Church, Llanallgo, Friday 27th January at 1:15 pm, followed by Private Committal at Bangor Crematorium, and open house at The Cloister, Llanallgo, to celebrate Eileen's life.
