David MichaelCLARKEIt is with utter sadness to announce that David Clarke devastatingly passed away suddenly on Wednesday 5th February in a care home in Peterborough at the age of 77. Apart from his short time at the care home, he was a long-term resident to Boston; spending all of his life living there. Born on 14th April 1947, David had to contend with being deaf from such a young age, but, even though he wasn't able to hear anything, he tried to let nothing bother him and enjoy his life as much as possible. David attended the Royal school for the deaf in Derby until the age of 16. Not long after, he went to work as a gravedigger in Boston Cemetery where he remained for an astonishing 47 years before retiring in 2013; this included getting local and national recognition in the paper for his dedication to the role when he did finish. David was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2017 and, in the last few months of his life, with pneumonia as well. He was a beloved dad, grandad, brother, uncle and friend and will be sorely missed by us all. His death has been a huge shock to all of us and has left a gaping hole in all of our lives. David's funeral will be held at Boston Crematorium on Wednesday 5th March at 3:30pm and we invite anyone who knew him to come to remember what a remarkable human being he was.
