Derek will be greatly missed. Family flowers only, donations to Cancer Research if desired. The funeral will be held on Wednesday 27 February at Burnley Crematorium 11.20 am. An inspiration to his students


Derek Clarkson was my tutor at Mather College1967-70. Wonderful memories of a superb potter and teacher. Our group of girl students we were all touched by his inspirational and creative talent and kind, gentle and patient personality. A time of my life I look back on with much joy and contentment.
The picture I have chosen here, reminds me of the crystalline glazes on his pots of later years.
I feel honoured to have known him
