RobertCLAYTONIt is with great sadness that the family of Bob Clayton announces the death of their beloved family member who passed away on the 23/11/2024 in Halifax Royal Calderdale Hospital. He was 85 years old.
Bob was born in Wigan but spent most of his life in Rossendale and Heptonstall. For most of his working life he was a coal miner. He also worked at a plastics recycling plant and later became a master stone mason and taught that subject part time. Bob was a very hardworking man who drew much admiration from those who knew him with his work ethic and get up and go attitude. He could turn his hand to anything including clay model figurines which were coveted by people. In his younger days he enjoyed playing football and took a keen interest in the exploits of Charlton Athletic FC.
He leaves behind his wife of 20 years Louise, Mark, Antony and Lorraine his children, and their mother Maureen, daughter in law Shirley, step-daughters Donna, Coral and Crystal, step sons Marcus and the late Ben, grandchildren, a great granddaughter, step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bob will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
The undertakers are Warburtons in Todmorden and the interment in Heptonstall.
