ArthurCLOSE(ex Macarthur Taxis) Devoted and loving husband of Faith, departed this world Tuesday 10th September 2019, suddenly at Salford Royal Hospital, aged 82 years old. Dearly loving and loved dad to Stephen, Jacqueline, Gary, Susan and Anthony, cherished brother and brother-in-law, loving uncle, special grandad and great friend to many. The funeral service will take place at Agecroft Cemetery and Crematorium, Langley Road Pendlebury, Swinton, M27 8SS, Tuesday 24th September at 1 pm followed by the memories of his life at Swinton Park Golf Club, East Lancashire Road, M27 5LX. The family have asked that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to The British Heart Foundation. All donations and enquiries to Co-operative Funeralcare, 175-177 Albert Road, Bolton, BL4 9HP, tel 01204 573280.

Wow ,,this is a difficult one ,,Arthur was a great friend of my family's,when he started mcarthurs taxis ,my dad was one of his first drivers and told us many stories from them early days ,, I cannot express how sad this news of his passing is ,,I send sincere condolences to faith and Steven Gary and Susan and Anthony... my prayers for Arthur from my family and me ..god bless from the Hinks family

Great bloke. Used to repair his taxis with my friend Andy Ducker in Bank st Farnworth. Always came in with a smile and lots of humour. A great character.
