From Barnardo's Parkstone Sea Training School at age 11, to Commander, Royal Navy, (ret'd) and still serving as President and Chairman of the Schools Amateur Boxing Association at his passing on 12 June 2024, aged 84, Rod never gave in, never gave up nor walked away from a worthy fight. In his many official roles throughout his long naval and boxing career he fought the corruption endemic in boxing and earned the respect of the sports community, and an MBE. The eulogies at his Thanksgiving Service on Fri. 2 August in Corscombe, Dorset, and at his wake in the village hall will be unforgettable. We are so proud of him, and of the boxing and PTI friends he made wherever he went. Read Kipling's "IF" and think of Rod Robertson.
