Dear Jean
You won't know me. I am a cousin of Walter's - his mother Violet and my mother Kathleen were sisters. I met Walter only once when he was at Boys Brigade (like the scouts) camp near a village on the coast of Northern Ireland where I lived. He was about fourteen and I would have been six - almost sixty years ago.
I am so sorry to hear of his illness and his death and your very sad loss. I can only imagine what you both have been through but so heartened to hear that Walter spent his final days at a hospice as I'm sure he received very good and individual care there. My thoughts are with you at this very sad time. Unfortunately I cannot come to Walter's funeral but even though we have never met, my loving thoughts are and will be with you. Patricia Lomax.
