Elizabeth MaryCOLLIERKnowles Died aged 91 on the 18th July after a brief illness, at the West Gate nursing home. She is greatly missed by her husband John, their families and friends. Elizabeth was very active in her earlier years in Deal. She was employed in the hospital, took part in amateur dramatics and sang with The Royal Marines choir. She joined the Womens Auxiliary Air Force, was a fighter controller and was commissioned. She worked as a Librarian at various USAF bases. She came to Thanet to recuperate after a major traffic accident. Married in 1960, raised a family of five children, three of whom graduated from University. She was caring for the youngest, who has Down's Syndrome in her late eighties. May she rest in peace. A service will be held for Elizabeth, to mark her passing at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church Broadstairs, on Thursday 22nd August at 1:00p.m.
