MyraCOLLINSnee Taylor, of Southwood Drive, Baxenden, died peacefully at Clitheroe Community Hospital on Tuesday, August 20, aged 90. She was the dearly loved wife of the late Alan Collins, a much loved mother to Lesley, grandmother to Rob and Tom, great-grandmother to Mia, a cherished sister, aunt, and dear friend to many. Myra was born in Accrington, living and working there all her life. She was always a valued work colleague and prior to retirement was a well recognised face in the treasury department at Accrington Town Hall. She was a life-long member of St Peter's Church and both she and husband Alan were founder members of St Peter's Amateur Dramatics Society. She and Alan were keen caravanners and walkers but also enjoyed many trips abroad. The funeral will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Thursday, August 29, at 11am. Family flowers only please but donations if desired to Alzheimer's Society or Macular Society. Funeral director: Hyndburn Funeral Services.
