On Christmas Eve 1953, my dad Jack registered my birth on the way home from your funeral on Christmas Eve, took me outside where we lived in Victoria Street, Rutherglen overlooking the railway to the city of Glasgow and the hills beyond, showing me to the world and the world to me.

In the final verse of one of your favourite songs Danny Boy
"I will sleep in peace,
until you come to me."

I hope you think my brother John Douglas and I Dorothy Ellen have done okay in life. We always did our best and kept the faith with our people.
