Happy Birthday in Heaven Mum. You are with all the family now and I know you will be waiting and watching for me when the time comes.

Today is the 21st birthday also of our wee book Home Town Tales and I am having it specially reprinted for this Novocentenary year.
I remember in 2005 when you were in hospital and I brought the first copy to you. Oh , how your face lit up.

I have forget-me-not seeds and poppies to plant in a special wee garden for you and I have wee helpers so we can watch it grow.

You loved roses and dad was such a talented rose grower. I was just telling someone today about all the flower shows we went to when i took over the garden after Dad passed away and I won lots of prizes for the roses. My new poem is called The Roses of Rutherglen.

Until we meet again Mum, Coorie in.Night, night, love and fishes. Love you lots and lots, dots and spots. Love Always, Dorothyxxx

On your birthday on Sunday I looked at my phone and the time was 11 11. Just then a photograph of you and Douglas on your 80th birthday fell down.

You're still here looking after me. All still connected.

"Till aw the seas gang dry my dear
And the rocks melt wi' the sun
And I will luve thee still my dear
While the sands o' time shall run."
Robert Burns

I sang that at your funeral while Douglas held my hand and sobbed. I am looking at the lovely photos of you and dad on your belated honeymoon in Ayr in 1949 at Tam's Brig and Dad at Burns Cottage and with Douglas in Overtoun Park, Rutherglen in 1950 and you taking me for my first paddle in the sea at Troon in 1954. How precious these photographs and memories are and how fortunate that you and I sat down and you told me all about each one of them.
Love Always,
Dorothyxxx
