The obituary notice of Andrea COOK (OBE)

Very sad news !
I grew up with Andrea and Karen , both lovely girls.
Andrea was a happy and bubbly girl always full of fun .Lots of fond memories growing up in Crawcrook with trips to Marchetti's for ice cream and lemonade sundaes .

Taken too soon and Andrea loved life. Thinking of her devoted partner, our uncle and brother, Peter and Sooty. Joan, Jan and Lyn.

Andrea and I met at Durham University in the 1970 s and completed several courses together. We remained friends ever since although I have been living overseas. The Andrea I know loved wining and dining with friends. Loved life. And felt fulfilled by a number of different job roles. Andrea seemed to thrive on challenges. And always seemed to be able to tackle whatever came along. Andrea has had her fair share of tragedy. And somehow was resilient enough to manage the enormous impacts from these. Condolences to her partner Peter and sister Karen. Peter was a loyal and loving partner and was in many ways the rock that Andrea needed so she could thrive even in hard times. Shocked by Andrea passing with what felt like no warning. I had planned to visit Andrea this week. Relief however her passing was a restful one. RIP Andrea. You will be greatly missed by your partner and family and friends. And your very special furry friend. In sympathy. Tori. Visiting Durham from Melbourne Australia .
