JoyCOOMBESWith great sadness, we announce the loss of our beloved mother, Joy Coombes, on 18th May 2024 at Ambleside Residential Care Home. Born 3rd March 1925 in Bristol. Joy served in WWII. She was an active resident of Leckhampton and will be mourned by her family and friends. There will be a private memorial on the 27th of June 2024 at Cheltenham Crematorium.

Joy was a lovely person. She was my mother's(Wendy Strachan) best friend. When my mother was in a nursing home with dementia, Joy visited her nearly every day until her death. My brother Michael and I visited Joy as often as we could in recent years and much enjoyed her company. Joy Coombes was lively in mind and young in spirit and I know she had lived a good full life. I think she had gone walking in a part of Africa in her 80s!
It is with great sadness I have learned of Joy's death. Michael and I will miss her a lot, Chris Strachan
