AvrilCOOMSAvril passed away peacefully on 20th November 2022 aged 76 years, after suffering from Parkinson's, PSP and CBD for 10 years. Now free from pain and frustration. Devoted and loving wife to Chris, dearly loved mum to Lisa and Paul, cherished grandma to Lauren, Tom and Finn. A very popular and much loved Southway Primary School teacher. There will be a private family cremation on Thursday 8th December 2022. This will be followed by a gathering of family and friends at 10.30am in the Plymouth Cricket Club at Mount Wise, Devonport. There will be an opportunity to celebrate Avril's fantastic life and share some memories at 11am. Please wear bright and colourful clothes. No flowers, donations please to Jeremiah's Journey, Avril's chosen charity. Grateful thanks to Higher Park Lodge in Devonport Park for their remarkable, unstinting love and care of Avril. One of Avril's favourite poems: "If I should go before the rest of you Break not a flower nor inscribe a stone, Nor when I'm gone speak in a Sunday voice But be the usual selves that I have known. Weep if you must, Parting is hell, But life goes on, So sing as well."
