I knew and worked with Jill in the early 90s, in Leeds. She was such a lovely person and very talented. Although we lost touch many years ago, I can still hear her wonderful laugh when I think of her. My deepest condolences go to het family and friends. May she rest in peace.

Jill used to be my Art teacher - she was the first teacher I had met who genuinely cared for her students. Having struggled with school, she was the first person to show me kindness and treat me with respect and that’s something I’ll never forget. I’m so saddened to hear this news.

We’re so sad to learn Jill has passed. I have looked on line to find her artwork as we have lost touch. We worked with her on props for Opera North in the early nineties. She was so funny that I used to get face-ache laughing with her. Jill had an exhibition in The Calls, Leeds and I bought a self portrait of her. I read David Roundtree,s tribute and although I would never sell our painting I will try to send a photo to this tribute page. Jill is much missed. Nettie and Karl Graham

I’m so sad to read this news. I worked with Jill years ago at First Direct, a job to tide both of us over as we moved on to better things. A friend of mine bought two of her pieces of art. I couldn’t afford any at the time, but I always enjoyed them so much. (If anyone knows of her work for sale now, please do let me know.) More than anything, though, was how lovely a person she was - I was in awe.
