RichardCOUNSELLof Haslingden, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, leaving his beloved wife of 63 years Joan, sister Rose, sons Christopher, Ian and Andrew, daughters-inlaw Anita, Christine and Paula, grandchildren James, Richard, Amy and Ellie and greatgrandchildren Alice, Emilia and Hallie. He was originally from Clayton-le-Moors but moved to Haslingden in the mid-1950s where he spent the rest of his life, working at various mills in the town before finally retiring from JH Birtwistles. He was a lifelong supporter of Blackburn Rovers and greatly enjoyed watching all levels of football and cricket. His funeral will take place on Monday, December 23, reposing at Johnson Durning and Woods funeral services, then at Accrington crematorium at 11am for a celebration of life service and cremation. Family flowers only please, donations if desired for Rossendale Hospice c/o funeral director Johnson, Durning and Woods Funeral Service.
