Richard CharlesCOWANWith profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Richard Cowan from Church Lawton on 21st October 2023. He departed peacefully and unexpectedly at home, at the age of 70.

Devoted husband to Christine, loving father to Thomas, James, and Kelly, and cherished father-in-law to Katy, Sara, and Andrew. He was a treasured Grandad to Grace, Sebastian, and Benjamin, a dear brother to Nick, and a friend to many others.

His passion for cycling remained undiminished, riding until his very last day. May he rest in peace.

A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday 21st November 2023, at 3pm at the Manor House Hotel, Alsager. In lieu of traditional mourning attire, we invite attendees to dress in a way that celebrates Richard's love for life and vibrant spirit.

No flowers by request. If desired, a donation to Hope House would be welcomed.

Tom, this is Kat from San Fran. I have stayed in touch with your lovely father on Strava ever since our Angliru cycling holiday in Spain many years ago. He has always checked on me, kept my spirits up, and made me laugh, even from thousands of miles away. I have fond memories of riding with your father that week, because Lord knows I could surely not keep up with you. I was always hoping to do one more Marmot trip with him. I should have Raided the Pyrenees with both of you, it will remain one of my life's regrets. I am wishing you and your family well through the holiday season and know that I am thinking of you. Your father had a wonderfully positive impact on me and I loved the banter, it filled my heart.

I will miss you my friend. Thank you for your friendship and support all these years. As you're riding the clouds I know you will be looking down making sure we are all pedalling properly.
You left too early but now at peace.
