EdwinCROOKEdwin (Eddie) Crook of Bacup passed away suddenly but peacefully on 22nd June 2023 at Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Greenock Scotland aged 87 years. Husband of 50 years to the late Jessie. He leaves behind Sons Neil, lan, Gary and daughter Janet, grandchildren James, Edwin and Stephanie and great grandchildren Ariah & Aurah. Edwin was the second youngest of 9 children and is only survived by his sister Nellie. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws. On leaving school he joined the Kings Own Royal Lancaster Reg. serving 2 years in Kowloon Hong Kong. On leaving the army, he worked at Olive Mill, Greenbridge and McLeries as a clicker. He was also President of Bacup, Borough Football Club the team he Supported since he was 8, true Gentleman to the very end. Eddie's Funeral service will be held at Greenock Crematorium on 6th July 2023 at 12 noon. Eddie's ashes will be interred in Bacup at a later date. Donations to Dementia UK.
