StanleyCROPPERof Peers Clough, Lumb, Water, died at home on Saturday, December 21, aged 82. He started as a miner, working at various pits, then as a mechanic for Gorden Brown heavy plant, then he stood in the markets in Manchester selling eggs. At age 50 he went to Burnley College and John Moores University to do a degree in art and came out with a BA in art. Stanley loved painting and had an art studio in Stacksteads, he had exhibited his paintings in various galleries in London, Scotland and the Lake District. He loved the outdoors. Partner of Jean, father of Kim, Martin, grandfather to Tom, Josie, Mikaela, Rochelle, Keiran and Harrison, step-father of George, Brent, Simon, Beverley, Lance and Gareth, he leaves 43 step-grandchildren, brothers Jimmy, Morris and Alan, sister Yvonne and nephews and nieces. The funeral took place on Friday, January 17, at Lumb Baptist at 11am, followed by cremation at Burnley Crematorium at 12.15pm. Donations requested to Cancer Research UK and Epilepsy Action.
