SarahCROSSSuddenly at her home on Monday, February 7, Sarah ‘Sally’ Cross, aged 88, of Oswaldtwistle, Accrington. Sally was born and grew up in Accrington, marrying her late husband Dennis in 1957 at St Mary’s R.C. Church, Oswaldtwistle. She worked as a weaver in various mills around the Accrington area, prior to moving to Heysham in the 1970s, where she enjoyed being by the sea. She recently returned to Oswaldtwistle to be closer to her daughter, grandchildren, family and friends. She will be sadly missed by those who knew her. The beloved wife of the late Dennis, Mum to Denise and Joe, Nannie to Sam, Gemma, Joe and Jess, and Great-Grandma to Polly. A celebration of life service will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Friday, February 25 at 11.40am. Family flowers only please; donations if so desired to St John’s Hospice, Lancaster in memory of her late husband Dennis c/o funeral director Oswaldtwistle Funeral Services, Union Road, Oswaldtwistle.
