Francis MichaelCROSSPassed away peacefully on Saturday, November 12 at the Royal Blackburn Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, aged 84 years. Son of the late James and Mary Cross, Michael was born and lived in Great Harwood up until meeting and marrying his late wife Mildred. Michael met Hazel and was a loving husband and loving dad to Ian, Jacqueline and Peter, loving father-in-law to Lesley, Ian and Tracey, also loving step-dad to Ruth and Steven, brother-in-law to Dennis and Susan, devoted grandad to Laura, Emma, Holly, Ben, Dylan, Morgan and Sarah, great-grandad to Amelia and a treasured uncle. Michael served his time as a painter and decorator, later working at Mullards, Simonstone for 26 years as a shift manager. He finished his working life in semi-retirement at the Greyhound Garage in Accrington. Michael enjoyed playing golf and watching all sports in particular football. He also enjoyed time at his allotment. His funeral will be held at All Saints Church, Clayton Le Moors on Thursday, December 1 at 10.30am by Rev Toby Webber, followed by an interment at Dill Hall Cemetery at 11.30am.
