MaryCROSSSadly, on her 73rd birthday, 13th August 2026, Mary passed away unexpectedly at her home in Scunthorpe. Beloved daughter of the late John and Dorothy, cherished Mum to Emily, loving Sister, and dear friend to many. Mary touched the lives of all who knew her and will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

Following a private direct cremation on Tuesday 8th September 2026, a Celebration of Mary's Life will be held at The Snug, Messingham, at 2:00pm. Family, friends, and all who knew Mary are warmly invited to come together to share memories, stories, and photographs, and to celebrate a life filled with love, friendship, laughter, and kindness.

Family flowers only, please. Donations in Mary's memory would be gratefully received in support of the charities that were close to her heart and which offered support to her: Cat-titude n Whiskers Rescue and Hope House Scunthorpe.

Forever in our hearts. "Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts."

I may only have known you for three years but you have been a very welcoming and friendly neighbour who will be greatly missed. We shared a love of gardening and I will do my best to look after your beautiful apple tree. Rest in Peace Mary.

What can I say, we hit it from day one, we weren't just friends, we were more like family, we never went a day without speaking or seeing each other, miss you so much, will be raising a glass or two on the 8th and remembering all the giggles we had xxx

So sorry to hear this news. I have some lovely memories of us working together at Scunthorpe C of E school. We shared a love of cats and we had lots of laughs in the classroom. Xx
