DawnCROUCHPassed away peacefully on November 7th, aged 90 years in St Michael's Nursing Home, Westgate on Sea after a short illness having received the last rites as she wished. She is now at peace with her beloved brother, Flight Sergeant Kenneth Crouch, of the RAF, killed in action in 1942. Dawn was a much loved member and respected Church Warden at St Saviour's, Westgate on Sea for 60 years and a church member at St Nicholas at Wade. She was a polymath, a school teacher and foundation school governor, also a driving school owner and examiner, she had travelled widely. She was awarded a Doctorate at Kent University on her thesis on the first thirty years of Westgate as a fashionable watering place, and became a founding member of the Westgate Heritage Centre. She was the first Honorary Freeman of Westgate on Sea and wrote frequently in the local press about historic moments in the life of Thanet. She will be greatly missed by her very many friends and acquaintances. Funeral service in St Saviour's Church on December 9th at 11.00am under Covid regulations effective at the time, followed by a private service at Thanet Crematorium.
