Brian 'Pal' EdwardCULICANBrian 'Pal' Edward CULICAN ON Thursday, March 5 peacefully in hospital following a short illness, Brian 'Pal' Edward Culican aged 76, of Bostons, Great Harwood. The devoted and much loved husband of Valerie, loving dad of Andrea, Lorna, Nicola, Rebecca and Zara, a dear father-in-law and cherished grandad, Brian will be sadly missed by all that knew him. Brian was a devoted family man who loved nothing more than being surrounded by his loving family; he was the most proud dad to his five daughters and was always there for them. Brian started his working life as a stone mason and later became a civil engineer for Lancashire County Council, where he worked for over thirty years working his way up to manager at the Whalley depot. Following early retirement at fifty, Brian set up his own company Stonecraft93. He was a well-known and popular man and was known for his green fingers and expert landscape gardening. Brian loved a beer and loved socialising and there was always a steady stream of visitors coming and going at the family home. Donations may be made on behalf of the Stroke Association. A funeral service to celebrate Brian's life was held on Thursday, March 19 at Accrington Crematorium. Funeral director: Champ Funeral Services, Clayton-le-Moors.
