Elaine DorotheaCUTHBERTSONPassed away peacefully on 10th August 2023, aged 93

Elaine was born and grew up in Mumbai, India, before being sent to boarding school in England. Studious, organised and a talented linguist, she worked at the Institute of Historical Research and the Venezuelan Embassy, before enjoying the most rewarding years of her career as secretary to Group Captain Leonard Cheshire at the London headquarters of his charity.

Elaine was the loving wife of Douglas, who died in 2003, a caring and greatly missed mother to Simon and Anne, and a grandmother of four.

She lived in Sevenoaks for 40 years and was a devout parishioner at St Thomas's Roman Catholic Church.

A funeral service will be held at St Thomas of Canterbury RC Church, Sevenoaks on Tuesday 19th September at 12pm, to which all are welcome, followed by a Cremation at Bluebell Cemetery at 1.45pm.
