Carol - it's Keith Barnes (from Station Road). I am so sorry to hear that Ray has passed away. I just found out from the Sentinel which is why I haven't been in touch before. I always think of you at this time of the year, with your birthday on the 22nd. I am so sorry that this year it will be saddened by your loss. I still come to Stoke from time to time to see my wife, Claire's, parents who live near Leek. I would very much like to call in and see you - it has been literally decades. We can reminisce about the old days, the Station Hotel, your dad and mum's shop and all the gossip of Station Road. If you would like to, my email is kzbarnes@gmail.com. This site may edit out email addresses but you will piece it together from kzbarnes (at) gmail (dot) com. If you do feel like getting in touch I'd love to hear from you. I hope you have as good a Christmas as possible in the circumstances. Gather your children and grandchildren around you and give them a hug! With all best wishes, Keith x

PS. This may come through twice - I was just about to hit SEND and we had a power cut! I don't know if I had already sent it.

Once a great father in law. We had many good times fishing and a few drinks, rest in peace.
