MarionDALYMARION Daly, of Highfield Park, Haslingden, died peacefully in the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Monday, March 2, aged 95. Marion, wife of the late Edward (known as Ted), leaves daughter Margaret, sons Michael and Phil, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Soon after the war, she was in the Land Army in Oxfordshire, where she met Ted. Marion was born in Rochdale and moved to Rossendale in 2013. She had previously lived in both Clitheroe and Derbyshire. She worked for many years as a filing clerk with a firm of solicitors in Rochdale. Marion enjoyed singing and was often asked to sing at friends' weddings. She also enjoyed reading, knitting, crosswords and hiking. In recent years she loved singing with the Rossendale Memory Choir and enjoyed attending The Lindens Day Care. Her funeral took place on Tuesday, March 17 at 11.40am at Accrington Crematorium, officiated by David Ireland. Family flowers only please, with donations in memory of Marion, if desired, for Rossendale Memory Choir c/o funeral director Josephine Durning for Johnson, Durning and Woods Funeral Service.
