I'll never forget you. You aren't in my mind all of the time as you were but you are still there, you always will be. Every year in silly season, you crop up again

I still miss you Darran. You are frequently in my mind. I often wonder why that psychopath was in your flat, was it you doing a good turn and giving him somewhere to stay? I never understood why the news described you as vulnerable. It's not a word I would have ever used to describe the Darran I knew.
Reading through the articles, I see Kate Gibby's name mentioned. It's many years now since she also passed away although not in a barbaric way like which you left everyone. She died in Dec 2016 and whilst I don't know what from, she looked so frail and tiny and was in a wheelchair in the months before. I like to think of a healthy Kate giving you the runaround, Darran. I hope you have met up on the other side. It comforts me to think that.

Hey, Dad. :)
I don't have many picture of you. I wish I did. There's one of you, Mum, Michael and Caroline at a pub wherever. Then there's the one in our sitting room of you and me after I was born. But then there's the blurry one in the articles. It's bloody cruel, Dad.
I wanna come visit you more often, I wanna hear things about you but no one ever says much. It's always 'your dad would be so proud' or repeated stories that don't tell a lot. I'd do anything to remember you or to have at least five minutes with you still here.
I wish you was here. Xx

Hi Darran,
I may think of you less often nowadays but sometimes there's a trigger and it takes me right back to thinking of I in that flat. I dearly wish it hadn't been you!
