I have always been proud to be able to say… ‘My Dad … he’s a Sea Captain‘ or… ‘My Dad is one of only 50 people in the world with his qualifications… I could go on.. with all my father’s achievements in life, he gave us lots to boast about. But I have never felt so proud of Dad as I have this year. Only two months after the loss of his own father, Dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer. His strength as he took up arms and fought it; and the positive attitude he maintained that he would be able to beat this terrible illness… that has pursued him SO aggressively, SO relentlessly, SO unfairly; I simply cannot describe how incredibly proud of him I am.Dad... I pray that you are finally sleeping peacefully and happily, knowing how much you are loved and missed.Being here with you meant the absolute world to me. I love you so much.Karla xxx_____________________ _________ ________

"First of all, my parents, (David's Aunt and Uncle) Norman and Bubbles Boyce, my sons Christopher and Andrew, and I would like to send our sincere condolences to David's wife and children - our thoughts and prayers are with you.
David was my older cousin, and, although I didn't see much of him because of his work and lifestyle, he has always held a special place in my heart. I remember him as a kind, happy man, who was always pleased to see his family, however rarely that might be. The last time I saw him was at Uncle Charles' funeral, and I'm so glad I had a chance to talk to him for the last time.
We always knew he led an interesting life, but reading his tributes has opened my eyes to his achievements and increased my sense of pride, not only in the things he has done with his life, but also in the kind of man he was.
David will always remain in our hearts and our memories with love and pride. Maria X"_____________________ _________ __________
15.09.2008 : engelbert Humperdinck wrote"As Uncle to David, my earliest memories are taking him and brother Ray for their first crew cut. It was a sign of the times then and they sported them proudly. I held their little hands and returned them home to show off the daring duo!
I can only imagine the heartbreak that has befallen his dear wife and my sister Tilly and her family this year. Be sure that the pain is felt all these miles away.
God must have a special place for David and reason for taking him so early in his earthly journey.
Here is the letter sent to the church.
Dear David,I decided to write this letter to you. I know you will read it.
You now have your loving family around you, to see you journey on, as your father was there on that day to say "come my son, we have a voyage to take and I will comfort you to God's country, where there is no suffering."You will be sadly missed by your loved ones, but the fond memories will remain in our hearts.God is with you dear Nephew.Rest in peace.
Uncle Engelbert, Aunty Pat and Family x"
