Mr Giles, who was deputy director of postal firm DHL Afghanistan, was killed along with the firm's director, South African Jason Bresler, as they arrived at their city centre offices next to the Iranian embassy.
At the time, DHL, a German company, employed 60 people at its offices in Kabul, which it opened in 2002. It was the only express postal service to the outside world, flying goods in and out of the country through Bahrain.
A company spokesman said: "Our thoughts are with the families, friends and colleagues of those who have lost their lives under such tragic circumstances."
