The obituary notice of Dorothy DAVIDSON

To Dorothy's family. I was one of Dorothy's pen pals. Our friendship began in 2016 when I started working at Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation in the in memory giving team. Dorothy supported the charity's Christmas appeal every year; she used to call me often (sometimes for hours on end) and our friendship soon grew way beyond her motivations for supporting this good cause.

When I moved away from Liverpool for work she kept in touch by writing to me. I haven't heard from Dorothy in ages and wanted to invite her to my wedding in August. I see that she passed away just a few weeks after I got engaged. She was always nagging me asking when my fella would propose!

I am devastated to hear of her passing. She was such a character and her words of wisdom had a profound impact on me, despite our 55+ year age gap.

When I walk down the aisle in August this year, Dorothy Davidson will be in my thoughts. The picture you have shared here has really warmed my heart. Such a kind, generous and charismatic lady with a heart of gold. Chloe x
