RaymondDAVIESFerndale. The funeral took place on 26th June at Llwydcoed Crematorium, of Raymond Davies, aged 89 years. Father David Jones officiated. Ray had been ill for some time and passed away at Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda on 12th June, with his devoted companion and carer June, son Rhydian and sister Christine at his side. The funeral was of a military nature, Ray had served with the South Wales Borderers, 1947-1949 and had been a member of the Royal Regiment of Wales Association for many years. Standard bearers from the Association and British Legion were in attendance along with many friends from those groups. A bugler sounded the Last Post, which was very emotional for those present. Mourners were companion June, daughter Sian, son Rhydian with partner Diane, Ray had lost his two eldest daughters Angela and Karen and grandson Leon in 2003 and 2008 respectively, also present were grandchildren Melanie, Tara, Christian, Oliver, Nathan, Aaron, Ethan, Bianca and Carla, great-grandchildren Rickie with Paige, Kiara and Lyla, great-great- grandchildren Jenson-Ray, Riley and Melia, sister Christine with husband Emrose and son Martin with Julie, cousins Margaret with Emrys, Howard, Ann and Delyth, Ray, Ceri, Craig and family, also Graham Partridge, Ceri Assiratti, Neola and Ivor Rosser together with neighbours and friends. The family wish to thank everyone who attended and for the many floral tributes. To Father David Jones for his touching words, to Ferndale Funeral Care for their great kindness and sympathy. To Fry's for providing transport and a special thank you to Ray's Association and British Legion friends who presence was appreciated. Apologies for any omissions
