William DavidDAVIESDAVIES - William David (Dai), February 10, 2021. Born in Glanaman, Carmarthenshire. Passed away peacefully at home in Llangollen, aged 72 on February 10th 2021. A small family service took place on Wednesday 3rd March at Pentre Bychan Crematorium. After attending Amman Valley Grammar School, Dai qualified at Cyn Coed College, Cardiff as a PE teacher before starting a professional football career as a goalkeeper, Representing Wales 52 times. He also played for Swansea Town, Everton, Wrexham, Swansea City, Tranmere Rovers and Bangor City. His interest continued and he was a familiar face on Welsh language football coverage. He was the first footballer to be ordained as a Druid into the Welsh Gorsedd of Bards. He later managed Llangollen Natural Health Centre and specialised in massage, Bowen Technique and Pilates. Dai was a wonderful human being, with a beautiful soul. Ever the gentleman, he had time for everyone. He was hugely respected and much loved by so many. He will be missed as a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and a friend. Donations in his memory can be made to Nightingale House or via justgiving.com/fundraising/daidaviesnumberone
