Only just read of his passing. Professor Dawes presented me with my Magitrix runner up prize in 1978 in the spooner trophy at the Humberside Theatre on Spring street now Hull Truck Theatre.
I performed many times there as a young magician

The only person I have known that can recite a poem about Lobotomy from memory. I wish I had met him a few decades ago.
