JoanDAWSONof Clayton-le-Moors, passed away peacefully at Springhill Care Home on Sunday, October 13, aged 92 years.
Wife of the late Alan, mother of Susan and the late Ian, mother-in-law of Alistair, beloved grandma of Helen, Neil, Kirsty and Megan and their respective partners Tom, Ruth, Tom and Nick, cherished great grandma of Amelia, Freya, Izzy, Charlotte, Arabella, Bobby, Emily and Darcey also a sister of John and his partner Audrey. Joan leaves also nieces and nephews and close friends.
Joan began her working career as a librarian at Accrington Library and finished her working career as a primary school teacher.
She was a member of Whalley Road United Reformed Church and a past president of Accrington Soroptimists where she made many friends.
Joan loved walking in the Lake District, socialising and enjoyed reading and puzzles.
Joan’s funeral service will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Friday, November 1 at 11am.
