RitaDEAKINPassed away at the Royal Blackburn Hospital, following a short illness, on Tuesday 30th June aged 79 years. Rita was the loving wife of the late Trevor who passed away only a month before. They had been married for 59 years. Rita leaves her son Chris, daughter-in-law Carole, granddaughter Kate and great grandchildren Logan, Amber, Henley and Vinny Joe. She also leaves many friends and will be sadly missed. She was born in Littleborough, moved to Rossendale in the 1960s and worked at various places including Mullards, Lucas, Halliwell & Horton and Burnley GPO. Before her retirement Rita worked on the counter at the Rossendale Free Press in Rawtenstall for several years. When she and Trevor retired they enjoyed spending winters in Southern Spain and later in life she particularly enjoyed gardening. The funeral will be at Burnley Crematorium on Friday 10th July at 10am. Family flowers only, donations if desired to The Stroke Association may be left at the service.
