Foster ShepherdDEANof Manchester Road, Baxenden passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 9, aged 82 years. Foster worked as a motor mechanic starting his career at Fred Millers, then moving to Sterling Dog Foods as a heavy goods mechanic. He then spent 28 years working for Hyndburn Borough Council until he retired. Foster was an avid car lover and a keen motor cyclist. His other hobbies included making model boats and he was a member of Blackburn Model Boat Club, and he was also a model train enthusiast. He enjoyed holidays with family and friends visiting Wales, Cornwall, Spain, and Portugal. He was the son of the late Foster and Olive Dean, husband to Gail, devoted father of Louise, father-in-law to Stephen and grandad to Elliott. Foster will be sadly missed by his loving family and friends. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, March 21 at 12.20pm at Accrington Crematorium, followed by a celebration of Foster’s life at Baxenden Village Club.
