WinifredDEMPSEYMrs Winifred Dempsey, of Haworth Drive, Stacksteads, died peacefully on Sunday, April 17, aged 83. Winifred was born in Stacksteads and lived there all her life. In her early years, Winifred attended St Joseph RC School. Winifred was a retired shoe operative, and had also been landlady of the Railway Pub in Stacksteads. She enjoyed doing jigsaws, going on holiday with her siblings, and socialising with friends and family. Winifred leaves her sisters Betty and Sheila, and lots of nieces and nephews and their families. A requiem mass will be held on Friday, May 6 at 11am at St Mary’s R.C Church, Bacup followed by an interment in Bacup Cemetery, conducted by Father Chris McGrane. Family flowers only with donations in lieu of Rossendale Hospice if so desired. The family welcomes you to join them at Bacup Cricket Club afterward.
