EllenDEVLINIt is with sadness that we report the death of Ellen Devlin, who died peacefully in her sleep, aged 90, on 25 January 2023 at the Nightingale House Care Centre, Bucknall. Ellen was the widow of the late Shaun Devlin of Bucknall and will be remembered locally as the original nurse founder of Nightingale House and previously of Heatherlea House in Woodhall Spa. Blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was also a caring mother to her four children, Carmel, Lorraine, Kieron and Shaun who all miss her presence greatly. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday 7 March 2023 at 11.00am at Our Lady and St Peter RC Church, Cromwell Avenue, Woodhall Spa followed by interment at Woodhall Spa Parish Cemetery. Those wishing to pay their last respects to Ellen are invited to contact Horncastle Co-op Funeral Parlour who can also arrange flowers and donations to the Alzheimers Society. The family would also like to express their particular thanks to the staff at the Nightingale House Care Centre who nursed her so well through her final years. Remembering Ellie with fond affection. She was the much treasured auntie of our daughter-in-law Carmel. We met Ellie several times, and we were always greeted with love and a welcoming smile. She was a lovely lady. She will be missed by all her family. Sending love and warm wishes to all. From Brian and Janet Dammes
