John DavidDEWHURSTof Sussex Drive, Haslingden (formerly of Cross Street North, Haslingden) died as a result of a short and aggressive illness, on Thursday, December 5, at the Royal Blackburn Hospital, aged 66. Husband of the late Ann Dewhurst, David, as he was known, leaves daughters Claire and Laura, sons-in-law Eamonn and Dan, grandchildren Edie, Louis and Theo and brother and sisters Barbara, Bryan and Margery. David worked as a plumber with his father, James Reginald Dewhurst of Regent Street, and later ran his own plumbing business. He played for St Mary's football team and was a lifelong Burnley supporter. His funeral took place on Wednesday, December 18 with service and cremation at Accrington Crematorium, at 1.40pm, officiated by Neil Overton. Donations if desired to Bovington Tank Museum c/o funeral director Josephine Durning for Johnson, Durning and Woods Funeral Service, 8 Pleasant Street, Haslingden.
