I haven't seen Bill for many years but have fine memories of our work together when he was leading on the introduction of the new Geography courses to the schools of Central Region following the introduction of Standard Grade for all S4 pupils. Bill was greatly respected by his Geography colleagues across the schools of Central Region and played an important role in ensuring that all teachers were well prepared. He amd I would sometimes run together at lunchtimes from Hillpark, where we were based, up the 'long line' road to North Third reservoir, sorting out a few of the world's problems en route! He had a fine mind and was a true educator, passionate about the role Geography could.play in widening the horizons of young people and helping them understand better this wonderful planet we share together. Rest in peace, Bill.
