Chris was one of life's good ones. Never without a smile and always ready with a joke whenever I'd see him on his daily walk through the woods. A stickler for spelling, I'll never forget him marching off to the Christadelphian Church to stick a note on their foreboding sign, informing them of their grammatical errors.

Rest In Peace Chris, the woods feel very quiet without your wonderful whistling.

Forever in our thoughts,
Hannah and Jo (Guphill)xxx

Though I saw him rarely, I really miss my dear friend Chris.
So many happy memories.
Always a cheery smile and a cheeky laugh.
Once deep friendships are formed then time or distance do not end them.
50 years ago our friendship was formed when we worked alongside each other. Hard work but we had so much fun together. To this day I can still remember his stories, anecdotes and jokes. He was a proper practical joker and neither of us ever forgot those close friendship days.

In later years my family got to know and love him also when his job as a taxi driver often enabled him to pop into our lives with his puns and schoolboy humour ….. Fare enough!

From the first day I met him till the last, every single time, he always put a smile on my face.
Myself and my wife Sue miss him deeply and our thoughts are with his family at this very sad time.

Chris our whistling neighbour, we will miss hearing your melodies as you walked past on the way to get your newspaper every morning.
Rest in Peace.

Time passes so quickly. Very fond memories of being a neighbour to both Chris and Pauline. Chris' reassuring whistling of familiar tunes, as he pottered about the garden and went on his daily walks. Always happy to chat and share his freshly caught trout. Sincere condolences to the whole family. He will be sadly missed. Hazel
