George EdwardDIXON(Wallsend) Peacefully on 7th October, with his loving family by his side, aged 76 years, George. Beloved husband of the late Christine and devoted dad, granda and great granda. George will be greatly missed and forever loved by all his family and friends. Please meet for a celebration of his life on Thursday 28th October, 1.15pm at Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel, followed by interment. Please wear something colourful. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu to Ward 22, NTGH, a donation box will be available at the service. Everyone welcome back to the Westholme Farm Social Club afterwards.

Without George 6 of us budding cyclists would not have been able to experience the incredible two weeks cycling from Lands End to John o Groats in June 2014. George drove our gear in the van all the way and would stop for us at lunch and for snack stops and then once we had set off on the next stage of the journey he would wave or shout some witty encouragement as he drove past. He was part of our team. He also accompanied us on Tour of the North a year or two later. He was a very kind friendly man and he will be a great miss. Cristina (NTR)
